Animal Ion - Regression
This is the new EP by Anthony Nuccio and his new band, Animal Ion. I’m playing on the 6th track, the kick a** song, “Insane.” I imagine any of these songs on the radio hopefully soon…Look out for some gigs soon with me behind the drums. And head on over here to get a copy!
The Saphead
Another bluray! And another musical score by Andrew Simpson.
Glockenspiel, Vibraphone, Triangle, Chinese opera gong, Suspended cymbal, Cowbell, Tamtam, Flexatone, Snare drum, Toms, Tambourine, Ratchet, Woodblocks, Vibraslap, and Egg shakers were part of the percussion part. And always so well written. We recently performed this live with the movie at the AFI Theater in Silver Spring.

Three Women
Andrew Simpson wrote and conducted the music for this 1920’s silent film by Ernst Lubitsch and we recorded it in late 2021 at Catholic University. It is also streaming on Kino Now if you want to check it out! I talk through the set up I used in a recent blog post if you’re curious. I have my own copy of the Blu-Ray and will say it looks and sounds great!
D.J. Sparr - Hard Metal Cantüs
D.J. is an amazing guitarist and composer whom I met years ago when he was a soloist with the Great Noise Ensemble, where I was principal percussionist from 2005-2015. We also played some of his pieces and would perform together; he’s one of the few people I know that goes from classical to rock in a heartbeat. For “The World Within” I took his sequenced tracks and made them work on the kit-some playing live, some with many overdubbed layers.
Master Sword-Shadow and Steel
The great Zelda inspired prog power metal band, Master Sword, asked me to play a wind chime and tubular bells (chimes) part on their latest album. I recorded them in my basement and they did their handiwork! Watch for these guys and girls as they're a great group of musicians and now able to call, friends.
Iris Divine-The Static and the Noise
Iris Divine is an amazing progressive metal trio and one of the most exciting bands on the scene today. They asked me to play percussion on their second album and how could I possibly say no? There is everything from trash cans to vibraslap to cowbells to tons more!
Watch the video (with a nice trash can intro!) for "Taking Back the Fall"
Chris Sizemore - Only Imagine
Chris is one of the areas greatest vocalists. He's a regular of the DC theater scene and recorded his debut album at Cue Studios in Falls Church, VA. I was lucky to be a part of it! I used the studio kit and an old Slingerland field drum of mine during the middle of "Bridges..."

Carolyn Cole - The Farewell Tour
Carolyn is a powerhouse! After her memorable theater performances in the DC area, she relocated not before putting on a rock infested goodbye of classic rock and lots more great music. This was recorded live at Signature Theater.

Great Noise Ensemble - Guerrilla New Music
I was a member of GNE from Day 1 (2005) till 2015. We premiered a ton of new music and did a lot of amazing things together. We were a vital force in the new music scene here in the DC area. I met a lot of great friends and have a lot of memories of our music making and all around shenanigans!

Echo Bloom-Forever Ruth
After a couple years of being in the Navy Band and before joining any other band, I scoured the internet looking for a musical collaboration. This was the first one! We recorded in the singer's (Kyle Evans) apartment with a handful of mics and my 60's Rogers Gold Sparkle kit. I'm not sure I knew any of the songs before this recording which made for a very live, natural session. They are going on very strong right now, so check them out!
Kurt Weill - Die Burgschaft
While a student at the Spoleto Music Festival in 1999, we performed this opera a handful of times. The Weill Foundation wanted a performance preserved forever. This is the final product, recorded live.
Boston Gay Men's Chorus - Gloria!
While freelancing in Boston 2001, I had the chance to record a holiday themed album with this great group!
Shirish Korde - Music Text (Drowned Woman of the Sky)
This was recorded while still a student at New England Conservatory in 1999, although the recording took place at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. There was a ton of percussion and I remember it was not an easy piece! Also on percussion is John Spirtas.
Lunar SX
I did a short stint with this band (previously called Razor Haliken) in 1991(2?)-one show and a unreleased demo. Not sure where any of it went from here! Click below to listen to three songs from it.
Aftershokk-Shock Will Rock
Aftershokk was my first original band. We played the clubs and bars around New England, really trying to make it. We were lucky to play places like The Channel and Paradise in Boston and even open up for bands like Vicious Rumors and Dee Snider when he formed his post Twisted Sister band, Widowmaker.
This is actually our 2nd demo (recorded in 1992) as our first wasn't even close to something that should be sold to the public-this probably wasn't either. Being in this band was an invaluable experience; constructing songs from scratch, playing the club circuit for the first time, recording this demo in a real studio on limited time (very limited hence the terrible sound), weekly rehearsals (at first at my moms, then in a paid rehearsal space), coming up with drum parts for original songs (which tended to be on the "adventurous" side), band changes (quitting and kicking people out) and hanging around some good guys for many years playing music!
